Adjustments To Expect With Hearing Aids

At first my hearing aids frightened me. I was afraid I could not think to drive the aids were so loud and they came out. They were tried off and on for a few months and then I gave up. I didn’t know if the battery was out or if wax was blocking the sound. Half the time I could not hear.
Some ten years later when my bridge partners begged that I get hearing aids I gave up and tried several kinds.Is this new to you? Catch up here I made sure the company understood they would see me often if I had problems.
There are adjustments to expect with hearing aids. It takes time. They are not perfect. Parts of conversation will be missed especially if the topic is not known. Expect difficulties with phone conversations. Close loud sounds reverberate and are misunderstood. Others are startling. Some hearing aids pick up sound waves from hard surfaces causing sound to be harsh. Sometimes aids do not keep up with changes in wave sound volume.
Expect to need to adjust to hearing aids. Learn to manage hearing aids, to maintain and diagnose problems. The intricate machineries are worth the adjusting. You don’t realize what you are missing.
